Dr. David H. Abramson, MD, FACS
Ophthalmic Oncology Service

David H. Abramson, MD, FACS is the first Chief of the Ophthalmic Oncology Service at Memorial Sloan-Kettering Cancer Center where he is a tenured Professor of Surgery, Radiation Oncology and Pediatrics in addition to a Professor of Ophthalmology at Weill-Cornell Medical School in New York. An author of more than 500 publications he has received the Lifetime Achievement Award from the American Academy of Ophthalmology, the Weisenfeld Medal and Award from ARVO, The Francheschetti and Bjerrum medal, the Hobie Award, Heed alumni award and recognized as the outstanding Alumnus of Albert Einstein College of Medicine (2012). A graduate of Harvard College he is first class marshal (for 48 years) and was inducted into the Harvard University Athletic Hall of Fame

Dr Francesco Pietro Bernardini
Oculoplasty and Orbital surgery

Francesco Pietro Bernardini, born and raised in Italy in 1968, completed his two-year fellowship training in Cincinnati(1998-2000) under the mentoring of Robert ‘Bob’ Kersten. Since then he has established his practice in Genova, and has satellite offices in Milano and Torino, Italy. He has published more than 30 scientific papers and is part of the editorial board of OPRS. Francesco is also reviewer for AJO, OPRS and Ophthalmology. He is member of AAO and he received the Achievement Award and International Scholar Award for his ongoing contributions to the annual AAO meeting program, where he has been instructor in many courses for more than ten years. Francesco is also international member of the ASOPRS and member of the ESOPRS; he organized the 2011 Cernobbio meeting on behalf of the European Society of Ophthakmic Plastic Surgery Society. Dr Bernardini has recently been appointed as a member of the prestigious Orbital Society. He has performed surgeries in India, during his first experience as faculty of Orbis in 2000

Oculo-Facial Plastic Surgeon

Professor Vinod Gauba is a British trained Oculo-Facial Plastic surgeon. After his medical training at King's college, London, he immediately went on to complete the UK ophthalmology training program. He then completed two fellowships in orbital, lacrimal and oculo-plastic surgery. Since 2008, he has served as the medical director and oculo-facial plastic surgeon at Imperial Healthcare Institute in Dubai Healthcare City. He runs a very diverse practice seeing patients from over 60 countries. He specializes in aesthetic oculo-facial surgical and non-surgical rejuvenation along with minimally invasive orbital surgery and endonasal lacrimal procedures. Dr Gauba has published over 25 articles in highly acclaimed leading international peer-review journals including authoring chapters in internationally acclaimed textbooks.His Masters in Science in Medical Research from the University of Oxford also gives him additional experience in this field. Dr Gauba is involved in various teaching programs and his post-graduate qualification in Medical Education from the University of Warwick puts him in a unique position to serve as an experienced surgeon, clinical educator and international researcher. Dr Gauba speaks over 6 languages and was recognized as the 'clinician of the year' at Arab Health 2013 amongst all specialties

Mark J. Lucarelli, MD, FACS
Oculoplastic, Oncology and Facial Cosmetic Surgery

Prfessor Mark Lucarelli specializes in oculoplastic, facial cosmetic and orbital surgery. Dr. Lucarelli has a special interest in surgical care of patients with thyroid eye disease and serves on the executive committees of the International Thyroid Eye Disease Society and of ASOPRS. He serves as Program Director of the fellowship in Ophthalmic Facial Plastic Surgery at the University of Wisconsin-Madison and is a dedicated teacher and mentor of residents for over 15 years. Dr. Lucarelli is author of more than 130 scientific articles and book chapters and is respected as a leader in oculofacial plastic surgery

Oculoplastic and Orbital Surgeon

Dr James Oestreicher is a Professor of Ophthalmology and Vision Science at the University of Toronto. He practices full time Oculoplastic surgery, and is on staff at St Michael's Hospital, Mt Sinai Hospital, and Princess Margaret Hospital. He directs the two year ASOPRS approved University of Toronto fellowship in Oculoplastic surgery. He is a strong supporter of ORBIS, and has completed 14 missions with them. He has published and lectured widely, particularly in the fields of vascularizing orbital implants, CO2 laser blepharoplasty, repair of complications, and posterior lamellar lower eyelid grafts

Mrs. Sabrina Shah-Desai, MS, FRCS(Ed), Ophth is a Consultant Ophthalmologist & Oculoplastic Lead at Queen's Hospital, UK. She qualified from Bombay University (1994), and trained in UK to complete a fellowship in Cornea & Oculoplastics at East Grinstead ('96-'97), followed by Oculoplastic fellowships at Salisbury & Southampton Eye Units ('98) and then at Moorfields Eye Hospital ('00-'01). In 2009 she undertook a secondment at the craniofacial unit of Chelsea & Westminster Hospital. She has expertise in the management of eyelid, lacrimal & socket disorders based on her extensive experience at Moorfields Eye Hospital (2003-2010).Her clinical research interests include thyroid eye disease and periocular cancers. She runs an annual "Back to Basics" pigs eyelid wet lab

Prem S. Subramanian, MD, PhD, is associate professor of ophthalmology, neurology, and neurosurgery at the Wilmer Eye Institute of the Johns Hopkins University School of Medicine and is director of the Wilmer Thyroid Eye Disease Center. He previously served as an active duty US Army officer and surgeon, caring for battle casualties during which time his interest in the efferent visual effects of traumatic brain injury arose. He is also an active orbitocranial surgeon with a specific interest in tumors of the skull base and small-incisional approaches. His current research is focused on rigorously assessing and improving visual quality of life in patients undergoing surgery for skull base tumors

Dr Chai-Teck CHOO is the past president and founding member of Asia Pacific Society of Ophthalmic Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery. He has organized and conducted numerous regional oculoplastic teaching courses. He has spearheaded the studies on the important microscopic anatomical features of oriental lower and upper eyelids. Invited by numerous hospitals in the region he has travelled widely to impart his oculoplastic surgical skills. He is an Editorial Board Member, ORBIT Journal and an Invited Editorial Board Reviewer of Ophthalmic Plastic & Reconstructive Surgery Journal. In 2008, he received APAO Distinguished Service Award for the meritorious services in Ophthalmology in the Asia-Pacific region. Known as an eyelid, brow and orbitofacial specialist, Dr. Tsirbas is sought after by patients from around the world for help in correcting some of the most challenging complication cases or to simply achieve the most excellent first time results. His specialty was truly enforced here with a fellowship in Orbital surgery at Columbia and at the New York Eye and Ear Infirmary. He continued his research and training and completed another fellowship on Orbitofacial Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery at UCLA in California

Her training allows her to offer an integrated approach that combines the microsurgical precision of ophthalmology with the concepts of aesthetic facial surgery

Education: Dr Gandhi is FRCS from Edinburgh and Glasgow and Neuro-ophthalmology fellowship from the Johns Hopkins University, USA

Experience: Senior Ophthalmologist at Sankara Nethralaya, Chennai for 13 years and the Director of the Sankara Nethralaya Academy

Interests: Development of new technologies in Ophthalmology, education and community outreach programs. He is an adjunct faculty at IIT Madras and the clinical director of the IIT-Sankara Nethralaya team which developed thestate-of-the-art mobile eye surgical units. Dr Gandhi has lead a team to organize and conduct outreach programs in Zambia, Kenya and Botswana. Dr Gandhi is a member of the International Council of Ophthalmology’s Technology for Education Committee and the Education Committee of All India Ophthalmological Society

Honors: Dr Gandhi has been awarded for Academic excellence by the Honorable Chief Minister of Gujarat Shri Narendra Modi at the Silver Jubilee of the Pramukhsewami Medical College.
